Lotte Herwig Erdhart

Since 1989 I have occasionally participated in watercolor workshops and in a number of group and one person shows. Apart from these workshops, I am primarily a self taught painter and woodcut printer. I receive my instruction from museum and exhibition visits. There I study and analyze great works of art and try to apply my findings to my own work. This combination of my eyes’ perception with my inner experience determins the way I represent the image.

My preferred subject matter: still lifes, flowers, animals, some landscapes. Apart from watercolor paintings I do some woodcut and linocut printing — my fondness for these seems to derive from my German heritage.
